Hello again all,
Life does go on, however difficult it may be. We just returned from a renaissance faire in Lakewood N.J. sponsored by the SCA (Society of Creative anachronism) and the Lakewood Lions Club. We go every year.
This year the funds raised at the faire went directly to disaster relief for the New York and Washington D.C attacks. Many people came, and although the money wasn’t so great for us merchants, a lot of money was raised for the relief funds. Of course, to be honest, a lot of people also just really needed to get away from the news and have a bit of "normal life".
"Normal life" is a mythical concept of "how life should be". I never ran into it myself, but many people I know talk about it a lot. Apparently "normal life" has something to do with getting a real job and not going to conventions and renaissance faires for a living...
I was relieved to see many friends who live and work in the New York area, as I hadn’t been able to contact all of them.
I am going to use the rest of this space for links, writings, and musings that you may find of interest or use at this time.

Aiding and Comforting the Wounded and the Warriors
Some suggestions for what you can do and make to help the victims, rescuers, and our service people. I have included some "Dos and Don’ts" for quilts.
