Finally! Its here, its here!!!!
<Jumping up and down like a madwoman>
As some of you may recall I had been having some reflective trim custom made... it finally came in!!!
For those who do not remember me blathering about this before, here are the background details...
I sell trim (among other things).
I nearly got run over a few times, some of my friends DID get hit, and I have seen way too many close calls at Pagan events, SCA events, setting up camp, just out walking, etc.
One way to minimize the danger of being hit by a car is to increase visibility, but this can be difficult when you are in Medieval or Renaissance wear, or just don't want to look like you are wearing a safety vest.
I started carrying both PVC (plastic) reflective trim, and Scotchlite (glass bead) reflective trim. Some of which is suitable for costuming and such, some isn't.
BUT
I wanted something that looked even better. I wanted trim that would look at home on the most self-conscious teen-ager in mundane wear, or the best day-to-day garb in the SCA.
So... we arranged for some to be custom made.
It took forever, kept getting delayed, and had all the usual trials of custom work...
We hope to have the pictures up on my webpage soon, but basically the trim is a Grosgrain ribbon, in three widths.... with narrow bands of reflective Scotchlite on it.
The 3/8 inch wide trim has one 1/8-inch wide stripe in the center.
The 7/8-inch wide, and the 1-1/2 inch wide trims both have two 1/8-inch wide stripes running down the side, leaving the center free for embroidery, or another ribbon, or beads, or what have you.
<Happy dance, happy dance!>
