| I |
Machine wash, any temperature. No chlorine bleach. Machine dry, any temperature. This wash code denotes the heaviest duty, most indestructible trim, suitable for children's wear, camping garb, and other heavy use (dirt-intensive) purposes. Many of the trims with this wash code show significant shrinkage on first wash. Pre-wash at highest expected temperatures. (If there is any chance it will end up being washed with the towels, get it over with up front.) |
| II |
Machine wash, warm/permanent press or cooler. No chlorine bleach. Machine dry low. This wash code is for trims with metallic accent or embroidery. The metallic component in most trims is heat sensitive. To prevent premature fading, and to keep your trims looking new, do not expose to high heat. (Some trims may benefit from fading of metallic components. Throw a sample into a dryer on high for 45+ minutes to determine effect.) |
| III |
Machine wash cold. Gentle cycle if possible. No chlorine bleach. Tumble dry low or no heat or air dry. Many of the trims in this category can take the agitation of machine washing action, but are especially sensitive to heat. |
| IV |
Hand wash by preference. No chlorine bleach. Line dry by preference. This wash code denotes a trim which, for one reason or another, is more delicate or sensitive to wash conditions (some trims snag excessively). Trims with this wash code are not recommended for high-dirt environments. Some of these trims can be washed by machine as if they were a lower wash code if care is taken to prevent snagging... but test first! |
